Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Costa Rica.

Welcome to beautiful Costa Rica! Your rental car will be waiting for you at the airport (SUV Intermediate 2WD, automatic transmission with basic daily insurance). Prepare yourselves to drive to our first destination, Arenal, La Fortuna.
La Fortuna Town is home of the famous Arenal Volcano, who is about 7,500 years old! This town has constant night life, variety of international food restaurants, bars and souvenir shops.
The Arenal region, about 56 miles (90 km) away from San Jose, is a prime destination for both accessible adventure activities as well as spectacular views of one of Costa Rica’s most famous volcano. It is also very popular because of the natural hot springs! Its convenience makes it the most ideal place for a shorter experience in Costa Rica and can also be combined with other tours in a longer overall visit. You will love this place!

Overnight in Arenal.
Meals Included: none.

Day 2Arenal, La Fortuna.

Have a nice breakfast at the hotel. One of the best and most famous attraction in La Fortuna is the Arenal Volcano National Park. The park encompasses the 7000-year-old, Arenal Volcano. The Arenal Volcano National Park is popular with birders, as most of the 850 species identified in Costa Rica can be found within the park’s borders. This includes one of the country’s most exclusive and beautiful birds, the endangered quetzal. Other animal species living within the park include white-faced capuchin monkeys, jaguar, deer, coati, and snakes. You will definitely fall in love with this amazing National Park with its amazing views of the forest that surrounds it and the imponent volcano.

Overnight in Arenal.
Meals included: breakfast.

Day 3Self-drive to Monteverde

Have a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Prepare yourself for the next destination, Monteverde. Paradise of nature, one of the best cloud forests in the world. Did you know that the first settlers in Monteverde were Quakers that migrated from Alabama U.S.A. looking for a peaceful life style? Monteverde has adapted the love for the Quaker philosophy and promotes the ideals of peace, friendship and harmony. In 1972, the naturalist George Powell began a conservation effort now known as the Monteverde Reserve.

Overnight in Monteverde.
Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 4Monteverde

Have breakfast at your hotel. The famous place to visit in Monteverde is the Monteverde Reserve. The Reserve has become a premier example of a cloud forest ecosystem. Monteverde’s cloud forests are the byproduct of fog (a thick, low-hanging cloud) tangling amongst the leaves and branches of the forest canopy. When these water-based clouds come into contact with solid plant material, the plant absorbs what it needs and the remaining water condenses and drips down – layer by layer, organism by organism – until it reaches the forest floor. This natural ‘waterwheel’ is what maintains Costa Rica’s impressive ecosystem!

Overnight in Monteverde.
Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 5Self-Drive to Jaco.

Have a nutritious breakfast at the hotel. We are going to the beach! Jacó is known for its hidden beaches, sportfishing, excellent surfing spots, and its unique position between the dry northern regions of the country and the tropical southern zone. Between the natural beauty and the accommodations, it’s no surprise Jaco is swiftly developing into a tourist attraction.

Overnight in Jaco Beach.
Meals included: Breakfast

Day 6Jaco

Have breakfast at the hotel. Today you can relax on the beach or look for an activity to do.
There are nice restaurants and some Saturdays, there is a big surfing competition where you can see the locals catch the biggest waves. Whether you’re looking for a secluded hilltop hideaway or a top surfing destination, the Central Pacific Coast may provide just what you’re looking for.

Overnight in Jaco Beach.
Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 7Self-Drive to San Jose.
