This tour was an incredible week of adventures. Everything we did--rafting, rappelling, canopy tour, horseback riding, ocean kayak--was thrilling and yet every experience felt safe and professional. We never had... read more to worry about a thing, everything was already booked and set up for us, beginning right at the airport.
The guides, the hotel staff, and all people we met were all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We were so comfortable with everyone that it was easy to practice our Spanish without feeling too embarrassed, and folks taught us some Costa Rican slang. We felt welcomed and taken care of everywhere we went.
If you take this tour, be prepared for a good amount of travel time. Roads in CR can be narrow and twisty, we were so thankful to be in vans with professional drivers!
Things I would do differently: I'd leave my water shoes at home and take two pairs of sneakers instead; bring more small-denomination money for tips; have 1-2 dry bags and more quick-dry clothes; longer shorts to wear for rafting (sunburned thighs!).
The views were incredible everywhere--Pacuare River, La Fortuna/Arenal, the road to Monteverde, the waves at Samara Beach. Beautiful. For such a small country, so many different types of landscape drama. We loved it. Thank you, GWA!
This outfit is top notch! Everything was perfect from the planning, destinations, tour operators, as well as transportation. I can't thank them enough for the experience. It was incredible! You... read more will not be disappointed using Green World Adventures!
We (my wife and I, both in our 40s, and our 9 year old son) spent a load of time looking through Costa Rica tour operators for a 2 week... read more adventure, and in the end thought GWA had the most interesting and varied package, and also built in sustainability-themed tourism most effectively.
We went to Costa Rica for the first 2 weeks of April, and we spent 2 days in each of the first 4 places (Tortuguero, Puerto Viejo, Arenal and Monteverde) and then 5 days in Manuel Antonio at the end. The hotels that GWA arranged were all excellent - they varied in quality and style, but all were clean, well operated, safe and efficient. We then had blocks of activities arranged for us, which were all well run and really fun. The tour guides GWA works with were really professional, knew their area very well, and were full of enthusiasm and energy. Between each place, GWA organized transport - mostly, this was really good, but on 2 occasions, the transport was too full, and on one occasion, there were no seatbelts in the bus - minor things, and actually the only negatives on an otherwise excellent trip, but easy for GWA to resolve for future travellers.
At every point of the holiday (and beforehand), GWA staff were available on WhatsApp to help and support - we'd like to thank Veronica in particular, but also Dennis, Mariana, Karla and Jean Carlo - they were all enthusiastic and competent.
Overall, this was a trip of a lifetime, and I wouldn't hesitate to strongly recommend GWA - they were fantastic.
We just returned from twelve nights in Costa Rica. Seven nights in Nosara (not to be missed if you like great food and surfing) with kids and grand kids.... read more From there we headed to Monteverde and Fortuna. For this leg of our trip we engaged Green World Adventures to chart out our stay. We requested private tours and small boutique hotels. We worked with Veronica and from start to finish and she was excellent. Veronica built our entire itinerary from hotels, spa treatments, transportation, and tours. She was was readily available both before we left and while on the ground in CR with a quick response to any inquiry we had. Our accommodations were all five star and eco friendly. Every tour and guide from horse back riding, sloth reserve, coffee and chocolate farms, hanging bridges, etc. were top notch. I would definitely recommend GWA if you’re planning a visit to Costa Rica
Our adventure tour was PERFECT! Flawless arrangements, the accommodations, activities, transfers couldn’t of been better. Very good value for all. Thank you Veronica our tour coordinator!
Our guide, Ivan, was THE BEST. He was informative, kind, supportive, and always, always, always, made us feel welcomed and safe on our trip. Literally the sweetest tour guide I've... read more ever been blessed with.
He picked us up from the airport and gave us a quick history and culture lesson on our way to the hotel. He gave recommendations at each overnight location and was happy to arrange other activities if we needed support with that. Ivan also made sure we had plenty of breaks on our journey out of La Fortuna to Jaco since the roads were very curvy and nausea-inducing. After I had to ask the bus to pull over so I could overcome some stomach trouble, he always checked up on me - all the way up until our departure day. He participated in our group activities and has a great sense of humor and fun. When we asked if he could accompany our group to get tattoos, he did so happily. He stayed for hours at the tattoo parlor making sure we were all okay and wouldn't have any issues.
Such a wonderful human. We appreciated him so very much.
