Itinerary
Arrival to the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). After customs and enter Costa Rica, a representative of GWA will be waiting for you outside the airport. You will have a private transfer to your hotel located in San Jose.

After breakfast, pick up your rental car and embark on a journey to Puerto Viejo de Limón, located on the Costa Rican Caribbean coast. The town retains its Caribbean essence, with an Afro-Caribbean influence reflected in its music, cuisine, and lifestyle. We suggest to visit the town of Puerto Viejo, filled with colorful murals, local craft shops, and restaurants.

Day at leisure to enjoy the surroundings of the area. Puerto Viejo's beaches are famous for their natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere. Some of the most prominent beaches include Playa Cocles, Playa Chiquita, and Punta Uva, where you can enjoy the sun, surf, snorkel in coral reefs, and explore the vegetation near the coast.

Today, drive to “La zona de los Santos”, known for its coffee production and local culture. This area provides a unique experience for those seeking to discover the richness of coffee production and the natural beauty of the region. The vegetation is lush and green year-round, thanks to its location in the highlands of Costa Rica. For this reason, you will encounter a great diversity of birds and other wildlife as you explore the region.

After breakfast, drive to the small town of Sierpe. Here, you will take a boat transfer to your hotel near the dense Corcovado forest.
The trip from Sierpe to the hotel in Bahía Drake (Corcovado) takes about one hour. You will navigate along the Sierpe River for approximately 40 minutes, where you can enjoy the beauty of the mangrove forest and see animals such as crocodiles and birds. Then, you will continue by sea for about 20 minutes to reach Bahía Drake.
You will be dropped off on your hotel. Note: it is a wet landing so, wear shoes easy to remove, sandals or water shoes.

Today, enjoy a snorkeling tour at Isla del Caño biological marine reserve, located 45 minutes by boat from Agujitas. It is the highest point of a 300-hectare underwater mountain. However, its beauty lies underwater rather than on its surface. The reefs and waters provide the perfect environment to observe species of coral fish, rays, sharks, and turtles. With luck, you can see dolphins and whales.

After breakfast, a boat transfer will take you back to Sierpe. Then, you will drive to San José. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy; you can explore the city, dine at a local restaurant, or simply relax at your hotel.
